GDrive

“Online file backup and storage… GDrive provides reliable storage for all of your files, including photos, music and documents… GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device – be it from your desktop, web browser or cellular phone”.

The text above from http://pack.google.com/cistrings.js which was modified last week, seems to be more compelling proof that Google’s GDrive is nearing launch ready status. Interesting to note the potential of GDrive access via cellular phone, music file storage and it perhaps being offered via Google Pack.

UPDATE: – It has been confirmed, this is the first “Official” description of GDrive.

Google Fav-Icon SERPs

As mentioned on Search Engine Roundtable and Blogoscoped.com, last weekend I noticed favicons in my Google search results for queries using the “site” operator. At first I wasn’t sure if this was a Google test or something else but this issue was later confirmed as a test by Googleer JohnMu.

Additional screen shots of fav icons in Google SERPs.

Google Sound Effect Targets Results

Google has launched a new experimental version of their recently introduced SearchWiki interface which helps better target results. This latest Google Labs experiment introduces sound effects that make removing results from SERPs fun! When users participating in the experiment take aim at the “X” icon which removes results and and then click, they’ll hear target practice like sound in addition to the SearchWiki animation. According to Google, the new sound effect was recorded by Co-Founder and President, Technology, Sergey Brin.

UPDATE: seems this feature isn’t as new as first believed……
