Uga the Georgia Bulldog
The University of Georgia Bulldog Mascot tradition, UGA began in 1956 when University of Georgia student-athlete Frank Seiler and newlywed wife Mrs. Cecelia Seiler attended an Athens Georgia home game along with the English Bulldog the couple received as a wedding gift.
After graduation the couple moved to Savannah, Georgia but promised Coach Butts that Uga would be in Athens for every University of Georgia Bulldogs home game.
Uga is the best known mascot in the country, he has attended the Rose Bowl, appeared in several movies, graced the cover of Sports Illustrated and is the only mascot to attend the NCAA® Final Four basketball tournament.
